200 Hour YTT

This certification program exceeds the National Educational Standards of Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level.
Program Requirements
Overview Requirements:
- Attend 50 Yoga Classes at The Healing Psot
- 185 Contact Hours -12 weekends (see hours below)
- 15 non-contact hours - Hours spent on the categories listed below that are not part of the scheduled 200-hour YTT program
- Prepare and teach a 5-week Yoga session
- CPR certification

Contact Hours:
The 185 Contact hours (time spent in the presence of the director during the program) will consist of:
- 100 hours of Techniques - including training and practice in asanas, pranayamas,Kriyas, chanting, and meditation.
- 25 hours Teaching and Methodology - principles of demonstration, observation, assisting/correcting, instruction, teaching styles, qualities of a teacher, and the student’s process of learning.
- 20 hours Anatomy and Physiology - Including both physical Anatomy and Physiology (bodily systems, organs, etc.) and astral/energy/subtle Anatomy and Physiology (chakras, nadis, etc.)
- 30 hours Philosophy, Ethics, Lifestyle - Study of the Sutras of Pantanjali, ethics for Yoga teachers, creating a safe and sacred space for your students, and the practice of consciousness and compassion.
- 10 hours Practicum - practice teaching, receiving feedback, observing others teaching and hearing/giving feedback, assistant teaching
- Contact hours are presented within the YTT weekend

Non-contact hours
The 15 Non-contact hours may consist of:
- Time spent in classes, workshops, or other yoga trainings that are hosted at The Healing Post
- Time spent preparing and teaching a 5 week Yoga session (up to 10 hours)
- 10 hours-prepare and teach 5-week Yoga session.
The 10 hours of preparing and teaching a class consists of:
- Teaching a 5-week Yoga class - This class does not have to be a formal class taught in a studio. You can teach it to any number of friends, family, neighbors or acquaintances.
- Handing in lesson plans for all 5 classes- these lesson plans can be done in any way that is meaningful to yu to prepare for teaching these classes, using descriptions that will be helpful to you or just using the names of postures.
